Owners and agents of residential property rented out in Davidson County. The Metro Codes page, verbatim: "Metro ordinance requires owner(s)/agent(s) register their residential properties within the time frames designated unless prior arrangements are made through Metro Codes' Property Standard Division office." The official form lists the property types: Single Family Dwelling, Duplex, Tri-Plex, Quad Plex, Rental Condo, Other. One registration covers all units owned by the same owner in the county. Separately, Property Standards must be notified in writing when a property converts from rental to owner occupancy and back, upon a change of owner, and upon a change of management company.
$10.00 as a single payment covering all of the owner's units, not per unit. Verbatim: "The registration fee of $10.00 is to be paid for registration of all units owned. Owners of multiple units within Davidson county are only required to pay a single fee of $10.00 for all units owned." The frequency of the fee is not stated on the official page.
"Failure to comply with this regulation could result in fines of $50.00 per week for each dwelling unit in the jurisdiction." — the wording is identical on the official Metro Codes page and in the official paper registration form.
The person signing this form acknowledges that this property is a residential rental unit. This information is required by this ordinance and said owner(s)/agent(s) are responsible for registration of their properties within the time frames designated unless prior arrangements are made through this office.
